Viewing IPhoto pics on Windows

Is there any way of viewing a DVD of photos from an Apple, on a Windows XP.
My friend made a DVD of her holiday pics, but I can't view them. I've searched for, and tried a few programs which I hoped might do the job, but they don't recognize the pics.
If there's nothing , can anyone think of an easy way to transfer them. She doesn't have an internet connection.

If you open Windows Explorer, can you see any files on the DVD?

Try getting Irfanview which is free, as this will display just about every file format.
