will anyone give me a credit card?

I know this is a long shot but I thought I would ask

I had lots of debts and I have finally managed to pay them all off (a few months ago)

some of them were credit card debts

I have a basic bank account with my bank

I dont have a job, I had to give up work and become a carer for my disabled son

having a credit card would be really useful for e.g booking a course as I only have a solo card and the site I went to wouldnt accept it

so my question is..............does anyone know of any CC company that might take a chance with me and offer me a low limit CC?

I know the answer is probably no...........I have been irresponsible in the past but I thought I would ask

Capital one, vanquis or aqua are your best bets

Failing that get a catalogue with JD williams or littlewoods, manage that well for a few months then try again for a credit card

Never used one - so no recommendation, ok (I hope others may comment)

But would a pre-paid credit card be of any "practical" use for booking courses etc?

    Some info here:

Prepaid card will be your best option as it will avoid you from getting into debt again.

Do you mind if I ask if you ever defaulted any credit agreements or have been issued a CCJ?

If you are desperate for a CC ( Although personally I think you would be silly as you have previously had issues managing debt ) See Proliants - Sub Prime Credit Thread for lenders that may accept you.

Yep i would go with Capital one. They pretty much accept anyone. Just be very careful with it. As someone else said, might be wiser to get a pre-paid credit card
    Thinking it over...:o
