No, as I previously indicated, the Halifax ISA will automatically be closed on transfer to a new provider and the full balance at the date of transfer, including any interest earned up to that date, will be transferred to the new provider.Aviator|Chris wrote: »So on the anniversary of the existing Halifax ISA, I could transfer the funds w/ Interest in-tact (with appropriate methods) to a new ISA with a better interest rate, then in April 2010, my new ISA will reflect the interest from the previous Halifax ISA?
The Halifax interest payment date is only relevant if you do not transfer elsewhere before that date.0 -
It seems the same questions pop up all the time, maybe its time for a FAQ section for ISA's. I.E all new people to isas etc could be referred to this before asking questions. It would save everyone including the posters a lot of time, especially people like 'baldur' who give up a lot of time to help people out.Mortgage Start jun 2007 £88500 Outstanding Balance £51000
Overpayments 2007 Nil 2008 £1040 2009 £7853 2010 £10000 2011 aiming for £18000 (6k so far)

the forum would get quite boring if not for such threads. generally you can gauge the intensity and scope of further discussions from the question.0 -
....i'm in agreement with Cocktail forums are more informative. Been reading through this thread and I like the dynamic opinions, FAQs can be static and doesn't give the same right to reply.
This will be my 1st cash ISA and like Avatar Chris I'm in the market for your opinions and I'm happy that someone will respond no matter how dense my enquiry, with this in mind here comes my question:
Can I deposit 3,600 in one helping, or stagger it in equal measures over 1 year or can I dump sporadic amounts each month so long as the balance ends up at 3,600?

I assume you are talking about the Halifax Direct Reward ISA, as this is what this thread is about?
With this account, you can make as many deposits as you like, for any amounts and on any dates, provided the total amount that you have paid in is no more than £3600.0
