Hi,
I was at a factory shop today and as the prices were really good I had quite a few items. The sales assisstent was really funny with me and she said she had to check with the manager that I was allowed to buy them all. He said I could on this occasion. She made me feel like I was doing something wrong when all I was doing was buying their stock they had for sale! Does anyone know if there is limits on how much stock people can buy? There were no signs anywhere saying there was!

Reminds me of a conversation I had at Christmas...
"Excuse me love, whats the maximum amount of Selection boxes I can by at once. I'm only asking because Tesco's will only sell me 6"
"How many are you wanting?"
"150."
"150! Why do you want so many??"
"Its for a childrens party that we've organised"
"I can only sell you 136"
"Why only 136??"
"Cos that's all I've got!"
Back on topic. Usually a shop will have these bargains (loss leaders) as lines to get people in the shop to buy the non-loss leaders as well. This helps make money for any store. Probably why they wanted to restrict you as if you bought all the bargain buys, the margin would have gone down for the shop.0 -

Unless they are doing so on the grounds of sex, religion etc, I believe.
I know shops used to do that with beans I think, 1p for a tin of beans, in order to get you into the shop! But you were only allowed 4 tins.
(Although there it was a tin of tomato sauce with 3 beans in it!)0 -
I saw a guy in my local supermarket take 2 trollies round, and fill them with anything on half price offer. Biscuits, coke, cleaning products etc... Looked like he was blatantly buying stock for his local shop!!
At the check out he was informed that for items on offer, it's a maximum of 6 per customer!! I'm not sure he understood their explanation as his english was quite poor.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I use quite a lot of Sanex bath. Usually it's about £2.75, but every few months it's on offer at half price. e.g. About £1.40, so I quite often buy the entire stock, about 20 bottles or so, because I know that I'm going to use it, so why not!
Otherwise I'll just buy one or two then have to pay full price when the offer finishes.0
