what to do with £9000?

I have £9000 to play with . How can I maximise my earnings on it? and where I don't lose money on it?

I have looked at ISA's and high interest accounts but has anyone got any other ideas.

All suggestions are appreciated. Thanks guys!

About 20,000 or so places to put it. Any chance or narrowing with a bit more information?

    A Saving Account will do.
An ISA for starter if you fdon'yt have one. The 3000 cash part is safe and well rewarded. For example go to A&L Direct ISA, currently at 5.2% net (as you don't pay tax on it).

And while you are at A&L, you might also consider the A&L Online Saving for the remaining 6k. They offer 5.15% gross on that.

If your not going to need it in the next 12 months id put 3000 in this years isa`s allowance 3000 in next years allowance (after april) and the remaining £3000 in a e savings or regular savings account, This is assuming you dont have any existing debts that need servicing.
If it doesnt pay rent sell it.
