I stayed here

I thought the text on this page misleading. I was charged £15 for internet access, when it says it comes as standard.

Then when it didnt work I had to phone tech support on a freephone number twice from my room.

In the morning the hotel charged me £3 for what was about a 2min call to a freephone number. Surely this is over the top?

    Hi,

It is a bit odd .... cause it doesn't say that the internet is not free .... normally they say it is an extra charge .... but I assume that they told you before you took the internet that it was going to cost you £15??

If nmot, then I would have argued with about that ... I would make a fuss about the £3 - after all it is their service that was not working??

    "High speed internet access"

That's all it says. I would fully expect there to be a charge. There is in most hotels IME.

Seems that you have just misunderstood, take it as a lesson in life, you're always learning!

    The web page says:
High speed internet access, cable or satellite TV and pay per view movies are all included. You'll find these as standard in all rooms and suites:
    • High speed internet access
    • Individual climate control
    • Coffee maker/tea service
    • Iron and ironing board
    • Luxurious bedding - down comforters, custom duvets, cotton-rich linens
    • Pillows: down, feather or foam
    • Trouser press
    • Hair dryer
    • Cable/satellite colour TV
    • Movies/videos, pay per view

So I would presume that would mean free... Also, it states that the movies are pay per view, so then surely it would also mention a charge for the internet?

As for charging £3 for a FREE phone call, that's just pathetic!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • Having spent waaay too much time in hotels I know that if WiFi is free they will make a song and dance about it "Free WiFi" or "Free internet access" otherwise they charge.

Pinkshoes it doesn't say all are included in the price, "are all included" can just mean that the rooms have these facilities. Some hotels I've stayed at only had WiFi or internet on certain floors, this is just saying every room has internet.

When you connect it'll normally say £x per day/hour and ask for some details.
