DLA & Carers allowance

    I was told by the carers dept that if you are living with the child and you are a single parent then you can claim carers allowance because of the fact you are there 24/7 for them s long as they get mrc/hrc. Even if you can't do much for them other than just being there in the house(which saves someone else having to be there) that counts as care well that is how they sold it to me anyway but i decided to no carry on claiming as i felt that my "care" was not good enough as i have trouble looking after myself let alone someone else. It is a matter of personal choice.
