  • I had a similar problem - I was expecting £18 Service charge but there was an additional £12 gas/electric charge on the booking form. I rang to query and wrote paying the Service charge by the deadline but explaining that I would query the extra £12 via The Sun as no mention on the website. The holiday camp returned my my cheque & 'declined' my booking. I am now left £60 down and waiting for The Sun phone line to open on 13th May so I can try to book somewhere else or get my money back.
Don't hold out a lot of hope but wanted to make a stand as it seems unfair that they can just add extra cost - but may have backfired for me

Just received paperwork from Bunn Leisure only to be shocked at the charges that they have added onto the holiday!
Initially the sun booking form says service charges of £6 pupn and entertainment plus pass of £7 pppb (which probably won't be used), which i fully understood when booking. However on the paperwork not only does it have the above charges but they also have:

Full compliment of linen per caravan of £18
and Essential pack per caravan £25

Call them and have them take these off, and then just bring your own linen

    :)

I think the firstgreatwestern link for '£5 off any ticket costing £6 or more' is still working too.

  • Sorry I only quickly rattled off my tale of woe to warn Creosote & didn't get a chance to log back on yesterday.

Rachie B - yes thats what I thought so wanted to query the extra £12 for gas/elec. I was quite shocked to get the form back and when I rang to park to say that I wasn't trying to cause trouble, just that the website didn't mention the extra charge, they were quite abrupt and made me feel I wouldn't be welcome even if we 'resolved' the extra charge.
Hopefully I will get the original £60 back from The Sun as I expect all the holidays are booked up for the times I was able to go. Its a shame as I was looking forward to a trip to Cornwall & I even bought BBC Gardeners World mag for the 2 for 1 pass to Eden project ( as suggested on another board) I must have jinxed myself!!

I hope they don't cancel them either. It's a much greater pleasure to have something to give which can be of a greater use to someone else. All the better two people get an opportunity to use it. It kinda brightens up your day twice as much. :D

Any road - you have carried out an interesting (accidental) experiment. Theoretically say you got together with another chum and both wanted to book sun holidays. Lets say you log in at exactly the same time without booking and carry out some searches you could actually book two holidays.

I would be grateful if you could let us know when you get a confirmation of your booking letter through to prove that this might work and it would kinda prove that it could work.

Thank you again just got my confimation through post for my holiday.

Rang to pay my service/entertainment charges but was put onto an automated line to do so. Has anyone else paid this way and did it go through ok/get written confirmation ok?

Hi there. I have booked a break through the sun holidays to Minehead Butlins July 17th for 2 adults and 1 child. I have paid the initial £61 but can no longer go. Would I be able to transfer the holiday to someone else and they then pay the outstanding service charge etc?
