Nearly there??

2 years ago I was invoved in a accident where i was not at fault....I was hit on drivers side which in turn resulted in a total loss. The other driver admitted full liaibilty and called his insurers (Direct Line) at the scene

The third party insurance settled the car, However i am still awaiting the person injury claim to be settled along with the losses Eg Cost of hire car, Loss of Fuel, Mobile etc
I have many visits to Hosp, Gp, Physio etc

On Tramadol,Co-codamol & Diazipam for when pain is at its worse
It is believed that there is a slipped disc/trapped nerve.

I had a medical report done in Sep 08, It was recommendat i was to have a Mri scan (which is taking place next week) and the reports suggests i will suffer this pain indefinalty.

However I am not longer with my then insurer (Quinn Direct) who instructed my current laywer whom i have spoken with once..

A few questions:

1 Is this minimal contact with my lawyer normal?
2 Will i pay the laywers fee? if so a guesstimate?
3 How long after MRI will an offer be made?
4 Any ideas as to would is likely to be offered?
and finally will the laywer advise me on what and when to settle?

Thanks very much x

  • Hi there.

    To answer your questions:

    1. Provided there are no problems, yes. Most of your communication will be by letter.

    2. The solicitors fees will be met by the other side

    3. It depends on what the MRI scan says. If there are continuing problems, your solicitor will probably advise waiting. If there is an identifyable and fixable error, then you may get an offer fairly quickly. Don't bank on it.

    4. Absolutely no idea. You should speak to your solicitor after the MRI and ask them for advice - that is what they are paid for!!
