Cheapest way to go to france for booze?

Anyone know the cheapest way to get to france to get booze? I remember seeing a long time ago these £1 per person & £5 a car(i am near brighton and was told that it was a huge drive doing this one so not so sure). Do these come up very often and what would you recommend??

Speedferries do trips over but I amnot sure if they have any special deals on at the moment but I believe they do a good deal for day trips
