Bank Account Plus - HSBC

hi guys if any of you seen my thread on getting an OD with hsbc i gave them a call last night via phone banking , got through to live personel and asked the question and he immediately said no! bit harsh tbh with his tone but fair enough i said then he rambled on to me about bank account plus i was eligable for? anyway i rang from my mobile because i was driving (hands free) and he was on at me for 30 mins so i agreed to take the account plus just to get rid , has anyone got this ? is it worth what it says? the main reason i said yes i spose was the fact he said in a few months your more likely to get an overdraft as youd be valued more to us ????? i thought was rather sneaky in how he said it

thanks

    thanks

There is a charge for this account if you didn't know. It costs £12.95 per month. See here.

I don't think having the HSBC Plus account would have any bearing on if you you can have an OD or not.

Such a terrible way to hit your daily sales quota.

This is misselling in its purist form, I would insist on making a complaint!

In the future don't let salesmen talk to you for 30 minutes about buying something. You're quite entitled to say "no, I'm not interested thanks" and put the phone down.

HSBC really are pushing the Plus account... their sales people (sorry, i mean customer services) really are selling the account left right and centre.

I didnt really want to upgrade, as its a 12mth contract, and I was within a few thousand of qualifying for Premier. I told the sales guy this. I ended up getting Plus anyway (he really was pushing it)... half price for first three months.... but it seems like HSBC have decided not to charge me at all for Plus as i've had it for 2 months now and not paid a single penny.:money:
