Cash for Old Mobiles (Updated 1st post)

To be fair, if they didn't have those t&c's they'd have every chump out there sending in broken phones with bits missing so this is there way around this. They don't ask for chargers, manuals or boxes - just the phone. They state if you do have the other bits they'll recycle them too.

They send you a pre-paid jiffy bag to send the item to them and if you don't like their offer they'll send it back to you for free - so hardly sounds like a scam bearing in mind it costs you nothing either way and you only stand to gain from it (or have the item returned to you and trade at Cash Converters in town or on ebay).

This isn't going to work for everyone, but some MSE's don't like ebay (or the risks attached to selling on ebay like paypal chargebacks, etc). You could go to Cash Converters in town or CEX but depends upon local store availability and the current offer price. This is a simpler way of turning old phones into cash whilst supporting a charity as well being a bit green too.

CEX wanted £32 for my Dad's old Siemens SL55, ebay sell for between £20-£50 depending upon who's out there. Envirofone gave him £45 cash as he isn't into 'the web/ebay' all that much.

Re damage:

b) should not be crushed or water damaged although may have some mild cosmetic damage such as light scratching to fascias and surrounds

brilliant site- have just emailed them to see if my old knackered phone is worth anything!

you could almost MAKE money on this.. my current phone cost 45.00 new - trade in on argos vouchers is 48.00...... hmmmmm....

Another place to consider for exchanging/selling old mobiles is https://www.cex.co.uk.
The have some retail outlets too.
