good findings many thanks0

isn't the postage 4.99 EUROS - so about £3.49??????????0
-
Far Cry for £3.49 is a bargain - just bought this from Amazon for £7.99 - fabulous game and you can also play online. Be sure to download the latest fixes because the base version has some graphics issues.
Be careful with some of the other bargains - the McAfee virus scan is not the full anti-virus package - it retails individually at £9.99 not £42, but is still a good deal at £3.49. And I bought XIII for £4.99 in Game over a year ago.You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -

Better to buy the 2006 version of the complete package for £24.99 from pcworld, which includes MS VS Version 10 (2006 version)
(or download one of the respected, free up-to-date anti-virus available)
An out of date anti-virus is about as useful as a chocolate teapot."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Yes but the McAfee 2005 one comes with a 1 year subscription for online updates, so it will be up to date. I run a copy of Norton Antivirus 2003 on one of my pcs and keep the subscription up to date, so you still get the protection. These companies just add a new year on the name of these products each year to pretend you're getting something else when you aren't really. You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0

The virus definition files will be up-to-date, as will the engine, but the software itself will not be. McAfee refer to definition files as updates, compared to new versions of software which they refer to as upgrades.
According to McAfee:A Product Upgrade is a full new version of the product, which usually contains major product enhancements, product design and/or new features. As writers of malicious code find new ways to infect files they often take turns that were unexpected when the software was first written. New application platforms are developed that allow writers to create code in new ways to attack different file-types.If you are using an earlier version ..., we recommend that you upgrade your product to the latest available version.
Edit: As I guessed, just came across a similar approach by Norton:What is the difference between a subscription renewal and a program upgrade?
Subscriptions keep your program aware of new security threats, such as new viruses, or new Web sites that you might want to block from your computer. Subscriptions do not add new features to your Symantec program, and they do not make that program compatible with new versions of computer operating systems.
An upgrade is a new version of a Symantec program that replaces your older version. New program versions may include new features, improvements that resolve technical problems, and compatibility with newly released operating systems or their updates (service packs). Upgrades include a complimentary one year subscription. The new program must be installed to get the new features and subscription.Symantec currently offers support for 2004 and later version programs."Now to trolling as a concept. ....
