Hey everyone!
I have a few questions i need help with!
ok..
First one is.. im finishing my second year and i MAYBE going on placement next year.. depending on if i get accepted for a year.. do i still apply for student finance incase i dont get a placement and go on to my third year?
Second one.. I have a student account and a £1000 overdraft which is all good etc but in my second year they said they would bump it up to £1250.. i went in to the bank in sept and they said everyone is reviewed automatically and if your overdraft goes out of the minus now and again then your ok.. Mine does go out of the overdraft now and again but is majority in the minus..? But my overdraft amount hasnt changed? should i go in and ask again? or may it be something to do with the climate atm?
Ooo! That last question was..
Does anyone know if someone needs a concept artist for owt? Im struggling to find a placement atm lol
but if anyone can help me with the others it would be a big help? Please?

You can apply for finance now and you can always inform them if you get the placement. But as I presume your parents will need to provide evidence and won't get their P60 until April you could wait until that's arrived. Hopefully by then you'll have a better idea about your placement.
If you want to bump up your overdraft, go in and speak to your branch. There's a big push generally towards not increasing credit limits without customer application so it may just be that you need to ask for it.
Sorry, have no use for a concept artist (not entirely sure what one is)
Good luck with the placement x0 -
RE: Student Finance, i'm elgible for student finance whilst out on placement anyway so if you're parents fall in the lower/lowest income bracket you'll be entitled to loan if you want it. As with the normal loan its income assessed, i can't quite remember how but i know i had to tell them how much i'd be on.
As MrsManda said just go into branch and they will likely extend it for you. xSave £12k in 2017 / Dec 2017 Travel Cash = £12,400 / £14,000 88.5%[/COLOR]
House Deposit = £20,500 / £18,000:money:0 -
Thanks!
Ill see how it all goes.. my family income does fall in the lowest income bracket. I think ill apply and see what they say etc and maybe ask fellow students what there doing? xI'm getting married in August 2015:j0 -
Placement year: I still got a loan while I was on a paid placement - but it only a half loan. Apply and tick the boxes in the form (if they're still there) saying that you're on a placement. It *might* depend if it's for academic credit or just a year off. Try and see
Overdraft: Halifax, who offer the largest student 0% overdraft at £3000, don't automatically upgrade the amount (and you have to re-apply each year) so it's worth asking your bank to increase it. If they won't consider moving.... so long as the other provider won't give you even less!!!
Good luck for you 2nd yearPlease note: I am NOT Martin Lewis, just somebody else called Martyn that likes money saving!0
