Cleaning greenhouse glass
Hi all,,
Just a quickie, recently moved into a new place and have a big 20foot greenhouse conservatory thing on the back of the bungalow. Its been seriously neglected and wondered if anyone had any good tips on getting the glass clean again, it cant be removed and the whole thing is all glass from top to bottom with a plastic corrugated roof on..( sounds nasty but its actually ok lol)
Thanks in advance xx

Lemon juice, white vinegar are supposed to be a good glass cleaners.
think is because they are both acids.0 -
I know it sounds unlikely but mr sheen furniture polish (or cheap version) is great on glass. I used to be a domestic cleaner and nothing was better for getting nicotine off display cabinets. I know you've got a different problem but it might be worth a try.
See if you can set yourself an aim of 5 panels a day or something. Then your arm shouldn't drop off and you'll know you're getting somewhere even if it does take a while.
The old school way, that I haven't tried, is to spray diluted white vinegar then rub off with dry newspaper. Could give that a go.0 -
Stardops in warm water, and a proper window cleaning bar that has foam covered in rough web on one side to wash, and rubber on the other to dry with. I also find Flash floor detergent works well too, dliute of course.0

Don't rush it! Get the panes wet - use a cleaner with a 'wetting agent' - and let them soak for a bit before you start working on them. I have one friend who swears by biological washing liquid for getting mildew/mould off glass and another who reckons nothing beats WD40!Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Perhaps you could do a controlled test - one technique on each pane - let us know the outcome?Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan
