After grouting cleaning wall tiles off

I have been doing seme grouting (B&Q Stoneworks wall tiles matt surface with some self patterning) and wondered the best way to get them cleaned up. When I did the grouting I washed down several times with grouting sponge but two days on and even though I have tried to wash the residue off and then buffed with an old towel I can't seem to get all the residue off.

Any thoughts - a plastic pot scourer but could that damage the tiles surface - so what else?????

If you have a grouting sponge, does it have a rougher side, the one I have does and that buffs tiles up fine. It is similar to the back of a normal dish sponge, so maybe you could use one of those?

Yes I have been using one of them and using a LOT of elbow grease it is working but very slooooowly and very boring. What a most unsatisfying job. Stilll I will learn next time to make sure I get more off immdiately after grouting;)

That's the only way it goes. If you think that it really does stick between the tiles then it is bound to adhere, especially if your tile surface isn't completely smooth.

when i tiled my bathroom last month i had a load of baby wipes so used them. Found they were brilliant, i wiped the tiles first with a dry cloth and then used the wipes. the lotion in them made the grout come off really easy and they needed hardly any buffing. I'd tiled the floor (in same tile) first without baby wipes and that took ages to get clean.

We had a haze on our floor tiles after grouting. White spirit seemed to do the job fairly well.

You need a bottle of Lithofin MN Power Clean which you can buy HERE or at a local tiling distributor.
