wouldn't worry too much about BR...it would cost them to do it and they've no guarantee of a result...simply scare tactics and you're generally trying to pay so I'd rest easier. keep coming on here - there are a lot of wise heads who have been through a lot of this grot before.
a lot of the DCAs prey on the isolation of the individuals and by being here you can see if what is happening to you is normal/real or just empty gesture....
good luck...hope it works outFor what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -

I have been paying them £100 a month for the last 2 years, iy's not like I'm refusing to pay. The expenditure form they sent me had seperate boxes for rent or mortgage, I filled in the box for rent.
Thanks
Didn't mean to worry you. It nearly always was just a scare tactic. I think we heard of one case (out of hundreds) where they followed the threat through. If they accept that you're in rented accommodation, it would inconceivable that they would take any action against you.
The OFT have been very clear that the tactic is unfair and that if they persist, they will be fined and ultimately have their licence revoked.
If £30 is what you can afford, then that is what you should pay IF they can prove that the debt is enforceable.
Time for that cca letter.0 -
Thanks Bismarck and fatbelly, I am going to send the cca letter today. I have to say coming on here has helped as you can see you are not alone.
Thanks again.0 -
I've just got a quick question regarding the cca letter, even though I have been paying connaught collections this debt for the last 2 years should I still start the letter with 'I do not acknowledge any debt to your company' or should I just request a copy of the credit agreement.
Many thanks0 -
can someone help me with my question please.
Thanks0 -
I would assume you have acknowledged it by paying it for so long?0

That's the moral issue creditors / DCAs like to play, they require an agreement containing the prescribed terms for it to be enforceable.SolicitorMidlands wrote: »I would assume you have acknowledged it by paying it for so long?Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.
