Hi,
I've borrowed my mum's Aspire One and have been using it plugged directly into the modem (can use it on her wireless network when in range).
Now Virgin have sent me a Netgear WGR614v9 and I'm a bit stuck...
It comes with an installation CD (but the Aspire One doesn't have a CD drive) and when I had a look at the Netgear website, it told me to use IE (which I don't have).
Am I basically stuffed until I can borrow someone elses laptop to set up the wireless network (which I can then use the WEP/WPA key on the Aspire One) or is there a way that I can set up the wireless network from this netbook?
Any clues? (NB I would rate myself 2/10 for tech know how!)

you dont need the install disk.
just type 192.168.0.1 or https://www.routerlogin.com into firefox on the aspire and look in the wireless settings page with it connected via cable.
the login for a stock netgear router is user: admin / pass: password
edit - all the details may be printed on a sticker on the bottom of the router0 -
Thanks to gaming_guy for helping get me on track with sorting out my Virgin internet connection.
I'm posting this addendum in case others like me end up here looking for solutions to connecting wirelessly using Virgin and an Asus eee pc 1000, (with a Linux operating system). I had problems connecting, and what I found was:
- Following the instructions of gaming-guy, I found the default setting with Virgin was WPA-PSK (TKIP).
- I found I could connect using WEP without problem, but not with WPA.
It turns out that when I changed the setting to WPA2-PSK (AES), then I could connect successfully using my Asus eepc 1000.
The simplicity of the solution belies how much time it took to track down the problem! :-)
If that doesn't work for you, there is some more in-depth advice and instructions in Tim Anderson's blog about this. I'd love to give you the link, but as a "new poster", my message to this forum keeps getting rejected if I try to include the address!
Try searcing google with the terms
tim anderson asus wifi fix
If you find his page, then note particularly responses 15, and 82, the latter solved my WPA connection problems.0
