i cant open mozilla firefox. when i click on the icon, it comes up "firefox is currently running but is not responding, to open a new window you must first close the existing firefox process or restart your system"

now i have restarted it, but to no avail, its been like this for 3 days.

any advice in simplistic terms as i am not too technology minded would be very much appreciated.

Can't see how it can't be running if you've restarted, unless it automatically starts and crashes when you login, but... you could try bringing up the task manager (right click the task bar and choose task manager) or ctrl-alt-del and choose it from there. Then find the Firefox, exe process or Firefox application and click "End process"

Otherwise, uninstall Firefox, and reinstalled by downloading the latest version from here: http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/
