There was a thing on the Jeremy Vine show re the too proud to sign on brigade. I didn't hear it all, anyone here know what they were spouting on about ??
edit. I just found it on i player, very interesting. Some folk don't want to sign on they are too proud, fine no problem with that but they are entitled to J S A or dole or whatever it is called now. Most wouldn't last for 2 months but some may well without signing on. He's not drawing on the public purse but they are queueing up to sign on. Good programme worth listening to.
Of course if you are self employed scum like me and have over 16k savings then you are entitled to jack !!!!!! anyway.I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left. :rolleyes:0 -

Incapacity, incapable etc.
Any numbers?
Is Brown responsible for all these hidden unemployed ...Most of these groups mentioned in all the other posts have been here for decades?0 -

That's the thing Brown has hidden the numbers very, very well. Not unemployed, they are now "something else"
Nobody can put an actual figure to it. I'll wager there are MILLIONS on top of the 2 million figure recently announced.
Speaking for the taxpayers, I'm sick of paying for the benefits "pyramid scheme".0 -

Does anyone have any idea of the "hidden unemployed". I see 2 million headline, but I know Gordon has "hidden" a couple of folk. That is the ones Brown has moved "off balance sheet".
Incapacity, incapable etc.
Any numbers?
Approximately 26% of working age people are not employed (first graph).
Approx 6.5% officially unemployed (second graph).

As the UK's national spokesman for pyramid schemes I speak on behalf of my members to say that we're not happy with your comment.0 -
People really ought to sign on in order to get NI credits even if they aren't receiving benefits.0

V. true. To embarrass the b******* with more accurate (higher) figures if nothing else. Can it still affect your entitlement to state pension if you don't?0
