how do I get my desktop icons back?

Hello, Please can anyone tell me how to get my desktop icons back on screen as I have inadvertently removed them help!!....thanks

Right click your desktop --- arrange icons by
make sure "show desktop icons" is ticked0 -
Are they in ~\Desktop\Unused Desktop Shortcuts ?0
