Integrated fridge and freezer

Can anyone please advise me how easy it is to buy and put in an integrated fridge? Ours has died and we are just using 2 coolboxes at present so obviously have to go replace it but don't know if this is something I am likely to need to get a wee man in to do for me?
Will also have to replace freezer soon as on last legs - same problem as it is integrated too.
Any advice greatly appreciated, as are any tips on where best to buy.
Thanks for reading

Somehow I think this is the wrong place for this - try the DIY board lots of relevant help there...0

There's an ex Apollo worker on here who might help, but could turn funny if you ask him to slide it into position.0

Integrated fridges and freezers tend to be more expensive than normal free standing ones.
They are fairly easy to install. Measure accurately the existing gap that the new appliance will have to fit in. You will need width, height and depth.
Use a price finder website like Offer of the Day and in the search field type in something like 'integrated fridge' or 'built freezer'. Even better, if you have a make you'd like to purchase pop that in too, eg Bosch.
Look for any discount codes as well, and cashback from TCB and Quidco.
Your existing appliance may be just plugged into an electrical socket on the wall. It may however be wired directly into a junction box. In this case if you are not competent with electrics then you should call in someone who is.
Once the new appliance(s) have been fitted you will need to ensure they are level. A simple spirit level should suffice although that isn't always easy to do if there is a worktop fitted directly above the appliance. The unit is levelled using a tool (usually supplied) to raise or lower two or more of the legs. Then ensure that any minimum clearance gaps in the instruction manual are followed.
Often the most difficult thing to do is to put the wooden door panel onto the unit's door. You may also have to change the hinges on the appliance depending on which way you want the door to open. Your existing door panel should fit as appliances tend to be a standard size. You may find that the fittings for hanging the door are different from your existing ones.

Exactly as above. I used to fit kitchens for a living and did these almost every week. Once you take out your old one youl will see how simple the fittings are.
If you can put together an Ikea wardrobe or put up some shelves, then you have the skills to fit your new integrated appliance.
Most are only plugged, but if they are wired in then you might need an electrician if youre not very confident.

Hi,
There are 2 different types of integrated fridge and freezers, built under or built in. Both are fairly straight forward to instal but you really do need to know which you have. Built under is where the appliance is fitted under the worktop, is fitted between kitchen units and the furniture door is mounted onto the appliance door.
Built in is where the appliance is fitted into a tall unit and sometimes the furniture door is hinged independently to the appliance door and then they are attached together with a slidding system.0
