you might be able to help me. i have 2 loans with lloyds tsb both with ppi.
i have started the trail of reclaiming but only 2 weeks in. i get a letter saying i have to ring up to cancel the ppi on both loans so i have just rung.
spoke to them and they say this:
yes cancel ppi on both.
will be getting a rebate on the loans as they are settling them early
i have to take out 2 new loans
but then i say well what about my reclaiming ppi payments? they say then i should leave the ppi on both loans whilst i am having it investigated as if i am due a refund then it will be easier if my loans are still with ppi.
i say to nice man.. doesnt sound right to me. he says well ring the insurance peeps then and gives me number.
why do i feel i have been stuffed?
any advice appreciated!
thanks mrscmr

Hiya hun
Oh dear not heard on this one before, so far we have only gone as far as the ppi on the credit cards, not dealt with the loan ppi yet. We did cancel them and still reclaimed on the ppi and as you know recently successful with one ongoing.......
So what they are saying is if your going to complain about the PPI, keep the loans going with the ppi and do not cancel???
In my opinion this should not make any difference hun, and yes with a loan I had with Nemo, we cancelled that ppi and was still refunded the whole lot of ppi, but then that was a settled loan.
Hopefully someone else will post up on this as well hun in regards to the loan cancellation, maybe Maxdp could give an answer here, that is the first time I've heard of this......
I do hope this sorts out hun, if I come across any info I shall let you know but meanwhile keep a check on the posts.:A

I don't think that is right either to be honest, and I want others to post their views on this, because at the end of the day in my opinion they mis sold you this, if you cancel they should still consider the complaint.;)
Good luck and I'm sure your right here hunni, fingers crossed.:A

Hello mrscmr, if you want to cancel the PPI now then insist that they do that. There is no reason to leave it running while it is being investigated, If you have any doubts ring the FOS about it and they should reassure you.
Dont forget to get stand alone PPI if you need it once you've cancelled.DS1 12/10/04

Hi hun
Not too bad thanks.:A And thank you.:A
Yes its good news isn't it ?
I thought my hubby's didn't take so long really, so he is quite lucky there I think and he was told it was not fast tracked either so that's cool.:D
His was resolved with the first adjudicator, unlike mine lol.
Now he awaits on the other credit card ppi complaint, that one is upheld but being dealt with separately, now that lloyds have resolved in the other one, it should be good for this one as well...fingers crossed.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

In the same boat as you Lloyds PPI claims. Self employed and health issues all of which the business managers knew about but hey ho selling a loan means points which means targets and bonus !!
Good luck

As a harden veteran of a lloyds loan ppi reclaim I suggest getting your letter to the FOS as quickly as possible. They've not been exactly quick on the replying to people including the FOS and have a lot of cases backed up.
And remember, make a note of any communication between you and Lloyds...Don't give them an inch.0
