Vistaprint - Beware Of Fraudulent Scam

Do not order 'free' business stationary from Vistaprint. It is a front to get your card details so that they can take money from your account (or charge your card) every month with a so-called 'subscription to their 'Rewards' programme. I have noticed today that they have removed £11.95 each month from my credit card since May 2007 - 22 months at £11.95. My oh my, those were expensive 'free' business cards. The company have office all over the world, and when you phone them to query the 'subscription' they give you 0845 numbers to call to 'cancel' the subscription. Today I have spoken to their Jamaican office; their Inidan office; and their supposedly UK office based in Edgeware, manned by Indian staff. they inform me I will not get a refund of monies already taken illegally from my account, but assure me my 'subscription is now cancelled'. Trading Standards are useless, they suggest writing to the Edgeware office (a PO box number) and asking if I can have my money back. I am totally suprised that in this day and age unscruplous businesses are allowed to get away with such practices. It is fraud (on a wide-scale if this forum is anyting to go by), and yet they continue as bold as brass to persist with it.

Please can anyone offere any suggestions on how we can get this stopped. Do we have no protection against this sort of organised crime?

VISTAPRINT - BEWARE. THEY ARE AN ILLEGAL FRAUDULENT SET-UP. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEM. DO NOT VISIT THEIR WEBSITE (THIS IS APPRENTLY WHERE THE PROBLEM STEMS FROM - A POP-UP BOX THAT IS CLICKED ON BY THE CUSTOMER, WHICH THEY TAKE AS YOUR AGREEMENT TO RIP YOU OFF EVERY MONTH FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE)

Contact Vistaprint. They did it with me once and was told that I had missed clicking or not clicking on a box on their website. Just give them a call and they will stop taking money off you.

I continue to Vistaprint for all my stationery and haven't had a problem with them since I ticked them off about this VIP club that they run. Guess it pays to read their website and any paperwork that you get with the order. Mind you I managed to stop them before they took any money.

Perhaps you should do what Trading Standards advise - a POBox number is easy because it is an address and some folks do have them even ones registered for their home address so that they can identify post easily. Vistaprint are a dutch company anyway - all my stationery gets sent from there.

When you order from them you need to make sure you read the small print and read the invoice so you know what you have got and what you are paying for.

I wouldnt say vistaprint are scam artists either. I agree that the VIP club isn't too clear at the beginning but Vistaprint themselves are very good I find.

My husband was a huge fan of vistaprint having ordered some 'free' cards. He encouraged quite afew friends to give then a try. He too got caught out and ended up paying some regular payments out of our joint credit card. I don't know what he accidentally agreed to on the original order but it cost us some money we had not intended to part with.

I've ordered about ten different things from Vistaprint, they are very competitive and if you are careful then you will not get charged this. Be very careful of what you are clicking. But vistaprint in itself is NOT a scam.

    Ditto that
We have ordered loads of times

As with all orders online for anything it is the buyers duty to read everything check or uncheck boxes etc..

Are you or were you 22 months ago a novice onliner purchaser ?
