99 Most Essential Pieces of Classical Music - £3 for MP3 download

Options
Just spotted it on Amazon. Lots of familar music on there - even if you're not a big classical music buff e.g. Nessun Dorma, Bolero, Adagio for Strings, Swan Lake.

Thanks so much for this. I had all my CD's and DVD's stolen last year and this is brilliant as it would cost me a fortune to buy my whole collection again.

  • I've been looking for something similar to this for a while. My sister in law works for the Royal Philharmonic and her husband plays double bass for the English National Opera.

Might give me something else to talk to them about other than the weather.............!

1.1gb download though so make sure you don't attempt this if you're on dial up :)

    Thanks for this.

Surely this should be in the insurance thread? ;-) Last time we renewed our insurance we made sure that our CDs and DVDs were included. (The thought of actually ordering them all again is too much to even consider!)

    Sorry - a no-go for me.

    £3 for a huge selection of music? Sounds a no-brainer doesn't it?

So why does Amazon insist you download their own proprietary software to do it? For me this is a simple not-on. An mp3 is an mp3 - you shouldn't need extra software to download, and I'm hugely suspicious about this requirement.

Downloadable music is clearly the future - but not like this. I don't know what Amazon's software does, and I'm surely not about to find out the hard way.

It downloads the music, makes sure that you have received a full and uncorrupted download, if one track didn't download correctly (which one didn't for me) you click resume download and it tries the tracks again (if any) that didn't download successfully the first time. No big deal really, but your choice...
Thanks to all who post constructively.
