New Problem with Wirless USB adapter

Hi
I wonder would someone be able to help me as the shop I bought this from will only help if I bring in computer so they can charge me!!

I have a Newlink wireless 11g 54 Mbps USB 2.0 Adapter.
This loaded & worked grand until my system got sick & Macman very kindly help fix it by advising more RAM which I installed sucessfully but when I tried to access internet the link wouldn't work.
I uninstalled the set up with Windows XP & tried to reinstall using the CD Rom provided but it won't install properly & gets stuck on Found new Hardware wizard. where it appears to be trying to load system drivers but never actually manages to complete even after an hour.
Also, when I restart the computer it comes up with error Code 10.
Looking this up on internet it appears maybe drivers or something not adequate. But I can't get internet access to downlaod these to the desktop as USB Adapter won't work!!
Sorry for essay / Can anyone help pleeeease.

Is there not an option to uninstall the hardware when you install the cd-rom,also when you try to install the usb device you must install the software from the cd before you plug the device into the usb slot

are you using the usb extension cable that usually come with these devices?,if so try plugging it into the usb slot without it

I worked on it all yesterday & today . It did give another option to browse where I wanted to load it. I think I saw setupExe or something similar & I tried to run it from there but it till doesn't work.

i would try that again, click on the browse option and choose a differant location to install,my documents for example,as the error code 10 seems to indicate that windows is not properly uninstalling the drivers from the previous installation, sorry im not being much help:o
