Warning about parcelforce via paypal

I booked a parcel to be collected through paypal a few days ago. Didn't think anything was wrong until the driver didn't turn up.

Got on the phone to parcelforce who said they had no record of the tracking number, and that paypal hadn't passed on the details.

With trepidation I phoned paypal, who told me they had passed on the details, that they were looking at royal mail's website and that they could see it was in the system (funny that parcelforce can't then eh?)

So phoned back parcelforce who passed me on to my local depot, where I baffled the bloke on the other end of the phone with my non-existent tracking number.

Decided to give up, cancel that label and try again.

Today parcelforce were due again- they normally get here at around lunchtime so I was starting to get suspicious at half one after no sign. Phoned them- there was a record at head office (:j ) but when passed onto the local depot they'd never heard of it.
Parcelforce are now due in a bit, thanks to the depot man who is sending a van round so we'll see if we can get it out of here at last.

I now have a buyer in Holland who has been waiting for far too long. :(
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine. :p

I had problems with my first PF collection, very similar to yourself - no record of the transaction at the PF end.

My OH works about 5 minutes from the PF depot, so I just print and stick the label and the missus drops it off on her lunch. It also cuts out one step of the chain, so by paying for a 48hr delivery and dropping it off, it tends to get there overnight - just as quick as a 24hr service.
<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->
  • Call the PF number 0878 850 1150, give the original collection ref & tell them you need to rebook a failed collection. Job done. Hope this helps.

Quite why anyone would arrange a courier through paypal I don't know....
Unless its going to the Highlands or NI.

You can get exactly the same services for £6.89+vat with freightsearch, or even £5.75+vat with saletrack.

I had this, though the canceled one was still charged, this wasin August- I still haven't seen my money, despite the promises from both paypal and PF.

i had the same happen before. parcelforce usually delivery to me between 7.15-7.45am so when they hadn't been by 8am to collect a parcel i began to worry, i waited until lunchtime and called the local depot who had no record of it! they did send someone straight out to collect it though.

i've actually just booked one tonight, about 5 minutes ago, for them to collect from me in the morning, seems a bit short notice so not sure if they will turn up or not. i won't email the buyer until its been collected.
