    hi moneybuster

Not sure. If it will take that long to pay off, I am surprised they havent recommended you look at IVA or Bankrupcy in which case they will set up things in a completely different way to a debt management plan.

Have you posted up an SOA on here before and could we help at looking at the debt? There will be a link at the top of the page.

Sorry cant help much more without further information

If you've not already done so, you'll need to give them deatils of every creditor / amount O/S / account number, followed by I&E, best to have all these documents to hand.

Yes it is, the hardest part is riding the storm when it comes from your creditors, your DMP will settle down, just takes time for it to show on the creditors systems.

    Hi,

I normally lurk on here rather than reply.

I got a DMP from Payplan 4 years ago - it's the best thing I ever did. The debt was huge and frightening and we had baillifs calling all the time.

I'm not sure if payplan are the best or just ok, but they have been brilliant for us. There was a couple of months at the start where we still received letters from our creditors, but we just passed them onto Payplan. We're still paying it off (and it's not been too difficult to be honest), we don't receive any scary mail and we're planning to up our payments a little.

I think you've made the right decision, no matter who the debt managment company are.

Once you've made your first 2 payments on time, the creditors will leave you in peace.

    Good luck
