Great reasons for no returns...

I've seen some good ones in the past but chanced upon this one today:
"Returns will only be accepted for faulty items, due to high import charges paid by myself on each item."

How do they get away with it?

    Get away with what?

Paypal means that if the buyer is really unhappy then they'll get their money back anyway.
Only accepting faulty items sounds fair enough to me.
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine. :p

You do on fixed price items under distance selling regulations, legally have to offer a refund within 7 days, Ebay have made it 14. A few exemptions (underwear, made to measure items, etc), but not many.

As a business seller you don't offer refunds?

I'm amazed, maybe I'm just overly nice

I can't easily find a list of what is & isn't included in the list of items - any ideas?

The seller mentioned sells clothes, fairly sure these are supposed to be covered. It really put me off buying from them tbh, and looks pretty unprofessional. I wouldn't expect to buy from Topshop online and not be able to return, so if you want to run a business, albeit on eBay, I think you ought to accept returns.

Where do the Distance Selling Regulations apply?
The Distance Selling Regulations generally apply to sales to non-business buyers made by sellers acting in the course of a business, which have been made at a distance. In other words, where there is no face-to-face contact between the seller and the buyer before the contract is made. The Distance Selling Regulations usually cover sales made over the internet, including:
    • Buy It Now listings on eBay.co.uk
    • Second Chance Offers on eBay.co.uk
The UK Distance Selling Regulations do not apply to eBay auction format listings on eBay.co.uk, and do not apply to all types of items.

"and do not apply to all types of items."
This is the bit I'm unclear on, what isn't included?
