Fab news Numpty.
I have to put in a new claim for HB and CTB now that I am officially self employed - they are asking me for audited accounts, the swines, I havent got any audited ones only ones showing what I have spent and need to claim back from business when it starts earning. Its a case of send all originals to a POB - not on your nelly, I will go to the neighborhood office and they can verify everything there.
Am a bit peeved with Virgin Media too - they have upped the cost of broadband from £18 a month to £20 (the rotters) and they are charging me for paper statements a grand total of £1.25 each month - I am going to be crafty and ask if they will charge for sending them in large print, if not then I will have my statements in large print thank you very much:rotfl:0 -
I'd go with e-billing thing Horace,
the bills still count as legal if printed off:rolleyes::cool::DPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBT NERD #869Numpty,Not sure why but I'm crying. Of all the peeps on this board you're the kindest & most supportive of all & I'm  &

Exactly the same thing happens with my brother every year for his tax credit award Horace. He tells them he has no audited accounts (and that there is no requirement for him to do any). So he takes down a copy of his annual income and expenditure accounts (that I prep for him) and they insist he takes down copies of every receipt and invoice and bank statements. One year some pleb insisted they had to keep them and it took us months of hounding to get them back (they'd 'archived' them somewhere). So I would advise you not to leave anything there but to make them photocopies of anything they want (although I tell him not to let them copy his bank statements at all).
What makes me laugh is that it is very unlikely anyone who is claiming TC, HB, etc would ever have any audited accounts. They may have accounts prepared by a registered firm of accountants but don't understand that its nothing like the same thing.
Like the thinking with the large print statements - I imagine this could work.:TA smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Well I tried to get large print statements but I would still have to pay £1.25 a month for them so I pointed out that they werent a disabled friendly company. To which the pleb turned round and said, oh we don't charge any extra for having large print but you would have to pay for a paper statement. When I quizzed him about the broadband cost going up to £20 he turned around and said but you will be getting 10Mb of broadband instead of your current 8 and it is cheaper than those paying for the large package as they have to pay £25 and still get 10Mb. Needless to say I have gone over to paperless billing.
As for the council, if they start getting funny with me - there are at least 20 councillors that I socialise with that will be able to help me out. They are only going to get copies of things - although why they want bank statements I don't know - I hate giving them any bank details because its none of their business plus I dont want my accounts raided by them so I just blot things out with a large black felt tip so they cannot see my sort code or other account details. It should be fun:rolleyes:0 -
