    Yes, must be southern thing, I'm on first floor & have large garden too - with your digging skills you should pop into my garden after you've cleaned my car, which crusies at a healthy 90 thank you :D

    Had to test it out, my old car would start to shake & groan at 70 :o & didnt want to get left behind everyone else ;) I'm very safe & didnt do that all the way, just the first opportunity I've had to try it :rolleyes:

    You would be truly amazed at my digging skills - I'm a natural :D If I'd been in the great escape I'd have tunnelled all the way to France... no doubt you'd have managed to jump that fence too :cool:

    For good colour & low maintenance how about a pieris or some variegated laurels.

    Clio do you have acid or alkaline soil? ......escallonia is a good evergreen flowering shrub for coastal either soil type......also rosemary, silver foliage perennials for dry conditions.......
