Prescription glasses in Poland?

I'm off to Poland for a few days next month and just wondered if it was worth taking my glasses prescription with me to get some new glasses made up while I'm there?
Anyone done this and do they have an modern range of frames?

We have VisionExpress in Poland, so you can expect to get exactly the same as you would get in the UK.
However, it's very likely that they will refuse to recognise a UK prescription. UK ones are issued by opticians (unless I'm wrong?) - whereas Polish ones are issued by fully qualified doctors who then have specialised in optometry. For this reason, you'll probably find that you'll be required to have a Polish-standard eye examination before any prescription can be dispensed.
I also suspect that price-wise, you might even be cheaper in the UK.From Poland...with love.
They are (they're) sitting on the floor.
Their books are lying on the floor.

Hi Chattie
Not sure about the prescription thing - as to whether you'd be required to have a new one in Poland.
But as regards frames - they probobly won't be cheaper in Poland.
If you do have existing frames and just need the lenses changing - these might be a bit cheaper in Poland.
Also the pound isn't even that great against the Polish zloty - you're looking at 4.80 zl to the pound - so don't expect any massive savings.
The only thing that I do find considerably cheaper in Poland is having your hair done / or visiting a beautician :rotfl:0
