LIDL Medion PC - Athlon 64 3700 - £399

I am guessnig you were just unlucky. I use a Medion (bought through PC World) and have never had a single days problem (touch wood, rub the rabbit foot, kiss the black cat, avoid the ladder). The internal parts in most PCs come from similar sources with most 'brands' purely being assembly jobs for off-the-shelf products (hence why just about anybody can assemble a PC from bits ... no different)bergy2 wrote:I must say I am anti Medion
I bought a new 800 quid machine and the monitor needed replacing straight off
Then just outside the 2 years it died totally - now I have built a number of machines so got a good idea and after a lot of bother found the processor 2.4 Intel had fried and the hard drive and when i got the XP disc out for some fun rebooting it had a big scratch on it and the code to re set up was incorrect with the disc etc etc
Ivan.I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0 -

no it isn't the same, this is a much lower spec pc, compared to the Targa one in Lidl0 -
I would still stay well clear as its really unlikely for a decent processor to die in a pc
I guess my expectations were high seeing as I paid out and didn't want the bother of building again -n i expect a graphics and sound card to go within 3 years but not the main bits really and haven't had that with any I have built - I have built a new one now so well happy with that0
