LIDL Medion PC - Athlon 64 3700 - £399

Hi
after buying a Mesh last week (and having to send it back on day one due to a faulT!), we saw this in LIDL Perth today...

no monitor, but did include keyboard, mouse I think, and a fair bit of software.

I think the spec was 1meg RAM, 400 Gig hard drive, 6600 Graphics card, a sound card too (I think)

Hope this helps someone - was too late for me!!

Shona

That's excellent - again, I built one myself for about £350, silent, but a lower speed processor

I must say I am anti Medion

I bought a new 800 quid machine and the monitor needed replacing straight off

Then just outside the 2 years it died totally - now I have built a number of machines so got a good idea and after a lot of bother found the processor 2.4 Intel had fried and the hard drive and when i got the XP disc out for some fun rebooting it had a big scratch on it and the code to re set up was incorrect with the disc etc etc

Customer services were a bit like phoning BT - nice but useless - and wouldnt replace the xp disc without me paying 20 quid - so all in all i won't touch them ever again
but i bet there are some happy ppl out there so enjoy :)

Are you sure it was a Medion?, I thought Lidls computer gear was usually Targa, and Medion tended to be Aldi.

Am interested to know this myself...I've had a look around the LIDL site but can't find any mention of any PC's on sale currently, not even regional offers
This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

Now I'm doubting myself... may not have been Medion, couldn't see properly through my tears...

but was def a PC, and def 1 gig RAM (sorry for saying meg!)

They had maybe a dozen in Perth, but it is a brand new shop, so I guess could have been an opeing offer...

Re Medion PCs, though - this is one I'm on, and (touch wood) it's always been ok...

Whatever the make shona, it sounds worth a look for anyone in the market for a new PC and in your area. Shame you spotted it too late

When a Lidl opened local to me they had offers that were only available in that particular shop so this could be the case here. I've been to my local Lidl today and no pc's in there.
  • I had a look around the european Lidl sites and the Belgian one has this Targa PC http://www.lidl.be/be/home_fr.nsf/pages/c.o.20060228.p.Targa_PC_AN_3700 listed for next week. Often offers appear on other countries Lidl sites before the UK so maybe they are going to be more widely available here soon. Unfortunately though, as the Belgian price listed works out to about £850, I expect the Perth price is an opening offer. There was a similar spec model at Lidl in November for iirc £750.

Shame as I need a new desktop since my motherboard died and you can't seem to buy decent high spec Socket A boards anymore.
