Hi all does anyone have any comments to make on the quality/reliability of Baumatic appliance. They look quite nice and are around the same prices as Bosch so am i guessing the quality is the same/ish?
I know a lot of people will say "just buy Bosch" but the only hob i can see that i like is Baumatic and i'd like all the kitchen to match!
Thanks, Ben

Who is german now? I bought an AEG washer dryer a few years ago. "a good solid piece of german engineering" was how it was sold to me. I only later discovered after the third repair trip in 1 year that AEG now made my machine in the far east!0 -
I bought a second hand Baumatic Hob and Oven a few years ago for a shared house, so they are used constantly and they are both still going strong; and personally I think they are better looking than Bosch appliances. Trouble is because we associate Bosch with sturdy power tools, we think their appliances will be the same, but this isn't necessarily the case.
Much like cars, two roll of the production line side by side, one suffers relentless mechanical failings then other runs without problems for years.
Have a look on line and make sure that the make and model you are looking to buy isn't notoriously rubbish, other than that it seems to be down to luck.
Hope this helps.0 -
We bought a Baumatic hob last year. The gas fitter was very enthusiatic about them. I'm very pleased with it.
We bought a stainless steel STOVES double oven at the same time. It does not look odd.'You can't change the past, you can only change the future' Gary Boulet.

Baumatic is from Italy! I am not saying this is always true of Italian products, but quite a lot of Italian manufacturers worry more about the look of an appliance rather than actually what it does and how reliable it is.
Bosch is part of BSH (Bosch Siemens Household) and Neff is also part of the group. Some of their products are made in factories around the world but most of their products are still made in Germany but the most important part is that they design things to do the job better and for longer than most of the Mid and lower market brands.0 -
I have a Baumatic integrated fridge freezer & recently noticed a manufacturing defect, after having the appliance almost a year. Baumatic have an excellent customer service department & nothing seems too much trouble for them when there is a problem. They are going to be replacing my fridge freezer with a new one because of the defect.
After only having this fridge freezer for a month, I accidentally dropped a freezer drawer onto the tiled floor, resulting in the drawer breaking. I phoned Baumatic & they sent me out a new drawer free of charge & it arrived the following day.
I'd have no hesitation in buying other Baumatic appliances in the future. Incidentally, my appliance came with a 2yr guarantee because I registered it online. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
we have had a beaumatic hob/oven for years, a couple of years ago the oven broke but we were able to ring beaumatic and get replacement parts to fix it .This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I've had a Baumatic range oven for about 6yrs years now, never had any problems with it. And at the time it was a lot cheaper than anything else out there too.0
