Virgin Mobile (Good!) and UPS (Bad!)

Ordered a new Virgin Mobile contract + mobile online over the weekend. Virgin website was easy to use and understand, and made the whole process very easy. I was offered a choice of various delivery dates, which seemed excellent as you could pick the any day for delivery within the next week.
I picked Monday - I was not sure that would be around, but assumed a card would be left by the courier and I would do what I normally do and arrange a redelivery or just pick it up from the depot.
Credit to Virgin Mobile - they dispatched straight away via UPS delivery..and that's where the problems begin.
Delivery was attempted Monday, and unfortunately I couldn't be there, so a card was left from UPS. Called the number on the card to re-arrange delivery. I asked if I could change the delivery address to my works address, the response was:
"It's going to be delivered again tomorrow"
That wasn't what I asked - so I asked again if I could changed delivery address.
"No, due to the nature of the package, you'll have to get in contact with Virgin Mobile to arrange that"
Ok, no problems. Fair enough - so I asked if I could pick it up at the nearest depot.
"No, you'll have to arrange that with Virgin Mobile"
Ok, again, nothing I can do. So I decided to visit UPS's website and just change the delivery date and keep the same address - I have a few days holiday from work owing, so'll just take a day off on Friday and have it delivered then (as UPS don't seem to offer a weekend delivery..) Arranged deliery for Friday online.
At work, I found I couldn't get the Friday off, ao arranged Thursday off instead. Went back to UPS website and tried to change the delivery date again, which wouldn't work, so I called them.
This time, I spoke to a much more helpful person - I asked if I could change the delivery date again, to Thursday, and apologised for all the changes - "No problem" they said. And then,
"Would you like it to the same address or a different one?"
Hmmmm...? SO it seems I can now change the address? Apparently so. No, I said, I have taken the day off work now so just deliver it to my home address on Thursday. No problems, all sorted.
Came home from work on Wednesday to find another card from UPS...odd.. I thought. Checked it and it said 'Left with neighbour'. The card had a different tracking number on, so I thought perhaps this is something else. Collected the package from the neighbour and found, no, this is indeed my Virgin Mobile. Double checked this on UPS website - package details:
Todays Date: Wednesday 18/03/09
Delivery Date: Thursday 19/03/09.
Status: Delivered.
Ok...
So, they have lied to me, delivered to another address which they specifically said they would not do, delivered on a day I told them not to, and now I have a day off work for nothing...although i'll not complain about that because I'm sure I can find something to do :-) (Like look at MSE forums!)
I hate courier companies!!!!!
Anyone else had any problems with them?
