Okay, assuming this is all you wish to "risk" on the markets here's what I'd do:
1) Register at www.topcashback.co.uk or www.quidco.com (these are cashback sites that reward you for shopping online).
2) Search for Legal & General with the cashback site.
3) Purchase any of the L&G ISAs that you feel meet your needs. Check out the small print and charges before you apply.
4) Receive an £85 cashback for doing so!
My view is that an £85 gain from a relatively small investment is a great start, as long as you are aware of what the markets can do (zigging, zagging, booming, busting etc).
As you build up a more substantial fund I would suggest considering professional advice from an IFA.
There may be lower charge investments out there. But this gives you a kick start in to the habit, so I like it.
If you don't want to expose yourself to the risks of the markets, I'd suggest browsing regular saver accounts at www.moneysupermarket.com/savings, opening an account that's best for you and then reviewing your options in 12 months time.0 -
On inspection of the L&G Isa.
All applications needed to be in by the 14th of March.
Looked a good cash back deal. Why do people feel the need to keep up with the Jones's ?? Why do some people feel the need to out do there friends and family ?? is this real happiness ??0 -
