offer accepted what are the next steps?

hello,

our offer on a property has been accepted. What are the next steps now? I'm going to RBS direct with all documents and going to apply for mortgage. I gave my solicitors details to the EA and got seller's solicitors details.

Who and when will they do the survey?
The bank will do the survey or do I have to find someone to do the survey?
Is it after the survey they will tell me the valuation of the property?
There are three types of survey right? Basic, Home buyer and Full structural survey. We would like the middle one (Home buyer) who do we tell that info?
What happens next?

Please let me know.

You tell the mortgage company about the type of survey you want.

Other than that, sit back and wait for your solicitor / mortgage company and Estate agent to work it out.

Im also wondering who/when to inform that we want home buyers report and not basic valuation.

Our mortgage was applied for in our local bank and at no time were we asked which valuation we wanted.

Do they inform you prior to it being done? I ask as hubbys bank account is being upgraded and to a joint account in order to benefit from ftb discounts.Very confusing as we arnt sure when money will be taking our from which account.

    Sorry to op for intruding;)
They often forget to tell you about the valuation options. Call your bank about this ASAP (but not all banks do more than basic valuation I think, you might have to arrange a separate more extensive survey).

No, banks usually don't tell you when the valuation is done. But again: you could ask.

We applied for our mortgage yesterday and they explained to us about three types of valuation (Basic, Homebuyer report and Full structural survey). We went for the middle option (Homebuyer report) which was £450 as basic was £270. So you need to get in touch with the bank
