  • Hi mrme,
Did you quote any codes or what did you say? And do you know if it matters if I am a new customer.
    Cheers.

32.5% off isn't enough!!  Digital cameras I'm interested in are about 50% or more higher priced than on Empire Direct.
This discount just about brings the two down to similar prices. Besides, this code didn't work for me.
You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.
  • Bear in mind you also can't use any codes on any Sale items either. :(

empire's a catalogue company, these catalogues are always expensive. they are designed for people who don't have credit cards so can't buy goods any other way. payment is weekly over 20 weeks or over 40-ish if it's an expensive item so the price you're paying includes interest free credit. they also pay the courier, you get free delivery and returns and you can return via the post office if you like, that must be expensive for the company. then there's the cost of checking and repacking all the returned clothes that don't fit or don't look right. they also have to bear in mind that they're catering for the end of the market that has debt problems (although there will be some customers who just like the convenience of shopping and trying things on at home). there will be some percentage of customers who get into payment arrears and are let off by the court having to pay only a pound a month or whatever. empire make their money by charging you well over the odds for the goods, if you can but cheaper elsewhere and have funds available then you should, lol!

sorry only just read your post - All I said was I couldn't get it to work online but really wanted to use it - if you search for the original handbag.com link the page is still live so they should be ok with it ;) No probs if you are a new or existing customer
