Solicitor HIP Council vs Private company

I had offer accepted recently so am looking for solicitors.

One company said they would only accept a HIP containing local search done by the council and not by a private company.

What difference does this make?

Official council searches are far better the personal searches. Anyone can get personal searches and most can be wrong or have vital bit missing. A HIP containing official searches will be accepted by any solicitor. Most cheap HIPs have personal ones which are cheaper to obtain. Some solicitors will bin personal searches and get official ones, which the buyer will have to pay for. The point of the HIP was to save time and money for the buyer. The solicitor has to cover his back and his clients so searches have to be correct.
