Hi!
I'm thinking about going to IKEA to get 3 large items and getting them delivered. I've heard awful things about the delivery, in particular waiting for the stuff to turn up. Someone on a community website recommended a company called Justflatpack, who buy the stuff on your behalf, deliver it and assemble it for a fee. Has anyone else used them or can recommend a similar company that does the London area? Or are IKEA delivery not as pants as I've been led to believe?!
thanks
Mel

I had £800 of Ikea stuff delivered over the summer. They delivered it for free and they send you text updates to confirm date a few days before the day you have agreed and then on the day they send you an update to confirm it's on its way. I had a good experience
And why would you pay someone to build Ikea stuff for you!?!?!?!? Waste o' money.Kavanne
Nuns! Nuns! Reverse!

Thanks Kavanne- no I wasn't going to get them to put it up for me, I quite enjoy that bit!0

I had an awful experience of IKEAs delivery service. Promised deliveries that never arrived, having taken the day off and waited in literally all day ... twice. Forgot to tell us of two other deliveries that probably did arrive but we weren't here! Threatened to charge me for one missed delivery, saying I had 'refused' it (they rang to say they'd be there in ten minutes and I was at work!). Getting the delivery took months, as they mislaid my items at one point and had to reorder. I eventually paid £50 for two wardrobes including delivery. Still not worth it for the hassle. :mad:Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

I've had 2 IKEA deliveries, in different areas (north east and west midlands) and they have been brilliant. The delivery company called to confirm times (I think I got a 4 hour window on a Saturday), the delivery was made at the very beginning of the window, after the driver had called to check our address (new postcode not on most satnavs) and they took it upstairs for meI refuse to enter a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent:rolleyes:0

I once ordered a kitchen through Ikea, on day of delivery my friend accepted the delivery as I had to work.
It was someone else's kitchen, not the one we ordered. Phoned the customer helpline and they said it would take 24 - 48 hours to sort the problem as they had to see what happened.
3 days later I went to the local store I bought it from had a go at the manager there saying it was your store so why should I contact a general customer helpline. 1 hour later i got a phone call that someone was bringing the correct kitchen the next day!0 -
The Ikea delivery service is actually run by DHL (at least the three deliveries I've had have been delivered by an Ikea truck with a DHL logo on the cab). I had no issues with their delivery - however I was having items that were being sent from their central depot that can't be collected in store. For this service I got the phone calls and texts in advance to let me know when they'd arrive - even the driver called an hour before he turned up.
If you're looking for something that is instore then its a different process. You go to store, pick it up, take it through the till then go to the delivery desk. They then take it off you and deliver it within a day or two - agreeing a time with you there and then. I think this service again might be subcontracted out.
If you want easy delivery from their central depot without the hassle, order online instead.0 -
Thanks all- I called IKEA Wembley and they said if you go instore and pay there etc they deliver it usually within 48 hours. He said that on the web you can be looking at up to 3 weeks. I'm going to brave the shop later as I have only floorboards to sit on!0
