We had a sunday lunch in McHughs restaurant a while ago and I would recommend it. Sunday lunch menu listed on their website. A free kid's lunch with each adult meal.

A few Sundays ago we went to the Lough Neagh Discovery Centre, at the south of Lough Neagh (20-30 mins from Belfast), where the cafe served a quite impressive carvery lunch. We arrived a bit late, so we just had coffee and cakes, but the price of the food was reasonable (around 7-8 pounds), and there is loads to do and see, especially for children.

east belfast - but don't mind travelling a bit - sunday outing!

The Point in Ballyhackamore is very good - good fresh food.

If you want to go a bit further out for a "bigger feed", Tullyglass in Ballymena is also quite good for it's carvery

Dave boy Mcauleys place (halfway house) just thru drains bay does really good grub if your out round the coast road, several menu's on a sunday at various times so a quick phone call might be in order first. The early evening menu in the bar has defo got turkey and ham roast on it, not sure about roast beef.

Further north there is the Anchor and also the York both in portstewart, bear in mind that all three places can get very busy, espicially on a sunday.

Thanks everyone - I'm now going to do an eating tour of norn iron. The halfway house has memories as I was brought up about there. Cheers. Will post back by food critic!:T
  • Why not try the Clarion Hotel in Carrick - £9.95 all you can eat starters and desserts. You need to book ahead to get this offer or its £13-15 otherwise. Lovely food and nice "run" from East Belfast.
  • 12 month old thread resurrected. Things slow at the Clarion then Sharon? ;)
