Sunday Lunch

I'm trying to find somewhere in norn iron that does sunday lunch like the pubs I went to in north east england. Sunday Roast dinner £6.95, choice beef, chicken or pork includes roast and mash pots, veg and yorkshire pud. Simple, you know the price pp before you go and you can afford a family outing once a month! If my husband has a choice he normally goes for the dearest thing on the menu! Anyone know of anywhere?:hello:

    Hi

I know it isn't everyones cuppa tea but I really enjoy the food served in JD Wetherspoons bars.
They do specials during the week such as a Curry Club & Grill Club and on a Sunday they do a Sunday Roast Club, now I have never been to the Sunday Roast club but going on their other meals and Grill Club night my brother goes to often I wouldn't turn it down.
The price isn't on the website but I think it's about £7.

If you let us know what area you are in it would help us.

Try Benedicts. The food is gorgeous. You can have either sunday Roast ,potatoes, veg etc for £7.50 or off their luch menu . eg chicken and peppercorn sauce on mash and a side order for £5.95... lovely food and great portions.check out their website.

No constructive advice from me, but give Wetherspoons a miss, its sunday dinners are truly shi te. The beef is the boil in the bag type stuff, the "roast" potatoes are clearly deep fried and greasy as hell, and they then stick a gravy on it which has a really strange taste to it.

Oh I almost forgot the camoflague (sp) peas. Newer frozen peas that have been added to older frozen peas in boiling water, giving varying shades of green, and some of them a texture of rubber bullets the psni could use in holylands.

Apart from all that Wetherspoons is an excellent choice for sunday lunch. Good suggestion
  • If you really want a day out, try Upstairs at Joe's in Cushendall. Kids eat free on a Sunday.

Darcys on bradbury place is really good but think it's 8 or 9 pound. Giant portions. Last time we wnet there were 2 austrailians sitting next to us saying it was the best roast they had ever had.

Also wetherspoons Enniskillen do a good roast, I think it depends on which one you go to. All the meals in the Enniskillen one, fry, curry, steak that I've had have been good. May be a bit of a drive for a roast tho!

The Causeway Hotel at the Giant's Causeway does a lovely Sunday lunch. We were there on Sunday and it's £12.99 for 3 courses and children are half price. Main courses were turkey, chicken, ham, beef, salmon and a vegetarian option, served with roast and mashed potato and vegetables. Portions are huge, food is really nice and staff are helpful in accommodating picky vegetarians! Think there might be a children's menu as well.
They have some menus on their website.
