I recently found a rusty old metal staple in one of my son's branded nappies. Luckily i noticed it before putting it on otherwise this could have resulted in serious harm to my son. I took a picture which my wife attached to an email to complain about the incident. And this is the response they gave...
We are not sure this is an acceptable outcome? Do you think we can/should take things further?
Thanks
Gareth
I’m sorry to learn that you’ve found something in our product that should not be there and am relieved to know your baby was not harmed. We do everything possible to make sure our products are safe and I have passed the details of your complaint to the department concerned.
I’d like to request the foreign body, product and packaging, if they are still available. If you have not already sent a note of your postal address, please do so so that I can send a pre-paid return envelope to you. You will also receive a voucher to reimburse you for your purchase.
I look forward to your response and thank you for your cooperation.

An apology, refund and investigation into what happened.
What would be acceptable to you?0 -

Could have being the operative word. Nothing bad happened, machines aren't infallible and they are offering to refund you, not sure what more you want from them.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
Think yourself lucky it wasnt a live grenade.0

or a shard of glass, which you may not have noticed. okay it shouldn't have been there but you found it. nothing in this world is infallible . and an apology and refund with an investigation seems fair to me .vic0

I think the op is refering to some compensation which probaly would be within morals.
I mean , if your baby could have got injured i'm sure you would probally want something more than a refund and investigation.
I understand what others are saying that they are providing you with a refund and investigation yes that is the standard everyone should expect but the chance of the baby beign injured i suppose can be an excuse to claim something.
Maybe , if you are not satisfied with the reply you could ring them or write a letter explaining your baby could have been injured and you could say you are not satisfied with simply a refund , you may get given some more vouchers etc, But i doubt it will actually be anything substantial. But only you can decide if you want to push further.
I wish your baby all the best for the future
Kind Regards

Where "take things further" means....?
I'm not being snide - what would be acceptable to you, and how far away from that are they now?If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -
Another argument in favour of cloth nappies.0

Perhaps I didnt word my post very well being new parents our babies safety is utmost priority. I am not bothered about compensation I just want to make sure more will be done to make sure this wont happen again to us and others, which the company doesnt seem too concerned about.
Sure they say it will be investigated but will it? Infact they dont say they are investigating just passing on details...
As to be honest I dont want to be checking every nappy for foreign objects every time as Im sure other parents dont.
At the end of the day I was just after peoples opinions not to get abuse thrown at me.0 -

You should check every nappy - nothing is infallible. - A friend of mine runs a nursery where they use disposable nappies and she insists all her staff 'shake out' a nappy before putting it on any child.0 -

Then having children may not be for you.
If these people have a systemic problem that causes foreign objects to find their way into their nappies then this needs to be fixed, obviously, and well done for drawing it to their attention.
But you should always check things like this because sometimes, with the best will in the world, stuff happens. If you can't deal with that then you'll have a rough time out there I'm afraid. If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0
