Re-claiming extortionate bailiff charges?

Options
Dunno if this is the right forum to put this in PLUS this happened over 18 months ago so here goes.
It started with an unpaid parking ticket of £30 and ended up with a couple of intimidating blokes who looked like they were members of Combat 18 (Meagers certified BaliffsPLC)coming round at 07.00 in the morning and charging me £400 otherwise they said they had the power to have my car towed away.
I did get some advise on it saying what bailiffs could charge and could not.
Is there anyway I can try and get my money back?
Thanx in advance.

I'm not sure about the process for reclaiming fees, but for a parking ticket I can easily see how it might have ended up at £400 for bailiff action. What's the schedule of costs and fees on this?

BEFORE even considering making a claim you MUST obtain a breakdown of the fees.

A simple letter to the bailiff co to ask for a FULL and DETAILED breakdown together with a copy of the Warrant of Execution.

Just to confirm, are these council bailiffs or court appointed bailiffs?

There is an ideal way to save £370.

Pay the £30 ticket at the time, before it goes up, gets taken to court and passed to the bailiffs.

You wouldnt have been charged £400 for just one visit, there are court costs, baliffs visits (plural). If these visits costs say £100 a time
then you can more or less say £50 per man which includes time, car costs, premises, fuel, insurances, tax, ni. and a myriad of other things.

I can never understand why people dont pay their parking fines and then bleat that its always somebody elses fault.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

because thats the country we live in now. everything is someone elses fault. Guy on the news today, filiming in a train station, he got told he couldnt do it as it could pose as a terriorist threat.
He was told he needed permision by the station to film, this has been confirmed as correct- hes on the bloody news moaning saying "well i wasnt tolld that, there should have been a sign". he was in the wrong, end of story, why put it in the news !!!!!!.

until this country get a minister for common sense,(a thought raised by jeremy clarkson of all people!) then we will continue with the same 5hit3
