I wouldn't have thought so, at worst they will ask you where you got the money from.

The smallest amount I remember seeing was £20!

There is a story behind this of course.
Unemployed mum given money by a crook to bank - bank card held by crook to withdraw the money elsewhere,
Not just one transaction of course but quite a few over a few weeks/months - it was just somebody asking where did she get the money from??

Moral of the tale you can never really tell - its just intuition that makes you think something is not quite right.

They may be if they are paying it all in cash.

    Anyway the limits are meaningless.

A member of my family was told they couldn't pay in a BS cheque into their current account because of the money laundering regulations however the bank was happy enough for them to allow them to put a larger electronic transfer through a few months later.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p
