Babybond scan?

Has anyone had a scan with Babybond? After multiple losses we are considering booking the gender scan at 16+4 and the anomaly scan at 21 weeks (as no 20 week scan on the NHS here).

I was wondering if A) Anyone had gender accurately determined in week 16, and B) If the anomaly scans they do are good quality?

Both these scans together come to the same price as the anomaly scan at the local private hospital, and having had several losses we are very tempted to book through babybond as we'd get to see baby earlier and on 2 seperate occassions.

Babybond also let you see baby in 4D during both of these scans and you get a B&W piccy to take home. Whereas the local private hospital give you a DVD/CD full of 3/4D pics at their scan.

I had a gender scan at 16+5. Not with Babybond, but with a similar local private scanning company. The sonographer said she was about 90% certain of the gender, and later scans have all agreed with what she said! We will find out if they were right soon.

  • I had 2 accurate gender scans at the 12 week mark privately when they were carrying out nuchal fold scans (2 separate pregnancies)
My 20 week abnormality scan was carried out on the NHS.

I've no experience of Babybond but they do sound pretty good to me.

Really glad to hear a good experience about babybond, I went ahead and booked it this evening.

Instead of the online booking I phoned up and asked could they give me a deal if I booked 2 scans now :money:. (Individual costs total £230)... you know what they offered? - a free keyring  I was thinking more along the lines of getting them for £200, so a bit disappointed with her offer! However i'm so impatient that I went ahead and just booked the gender scan now. Maybe when I go in and ask about the anomaly scan they will come up with a better offer.

The website had a date for 16+4 but she wouldn't book me in until after 17 weeks. So, only 16 days to go - can't wait :D

I had a gender scan with Babybond in Livingston and they were lovely. Plenty of pics given, she even fussed over DS1 (5 at the time) and did a special pic for him so he was delighted.

Accurate on sex but as soon as she put the scanner on me all we saw were boys bits anyway so he wasnt shy!!

    Enjoy your scans!
Bringing up 2 handsome boys and 1 gorgeous girl the MSE way!

I had a dating scan with Babybond at 10 weeks into this pregnancy and they were fantastic! The songrapher was lovely, and spent a lot of time showing us what everything was on the screen and talking us through the scan.

    I would definitely recommend them!

I had a scan with Babybond heathrow when I was 13 weeks pregnant and it cost £90.... they told me my lovely daughter was a boy and when I had my scan with the NHS they picked up on lots of things Babybond had missed- to cut a long story short she showed a lot of signs of chromosome disorders, had cysts on her brain, possible bowel problem etc. There were so many obvious signs that I was under oservation with a specialist NHS hospital throughout the whole preganacy. A total waste of £90.... although the sonographer and staff were lovely and they gave us lots of pictures!

She was born absolutely perfect in february 2008 :j .

    Thanks :)

Did they give you 3D pics or the normal B&W ones? did you have to pay any extra, or did you have the option to pay extra for anything?

ETA: forgot to ask, what was involved in their "wellbeing check" during the gender determination ?

After our losses it's very important to us we have an accurate anomaly scan and we're struggling abit with our NHS care. I'm really not sure if i should go ahead with Babybond for that though?

That's insane they did gender determination at only 13 weeks, that's really unfair on the parents. By abominal u/s esp it's not accurate until later (although of course they have 50% chance of being right anyway lol). I was told they wouldn't do it until i was 17 weeks.

The early scan with them isn't suppose to be a detailed anomaly though, and many problems can't be seen until after 18 weeks (the ones that do show) so i suppose it's not surprising they missed things at only 13 weeks. Good job you got an NHS scan though just incase you all had to be prepared for anything.

So glad your LO was born healthy!
