Sainsbury Mico 311 DVD Recorder £99

  • Thanks o0ps.
Just bought one. Good quality, easy to setup and use.
Connected my Sky box, video recorder and camcorder. Made some recordings at LP setting from each of the attached devices. Playback quality is very good. Played on my PC as well and again quality was very good (full screen on 21").
I tried copying one of my VHS tapes, it didn't do it. Is there a way around of this copy protection issue. I am asking this just to transfer my own VHS tapes to DVD, not for any other reason.
    Thanks.

Got this from Sainsbury's Salford a few days ago, £99. At this price it would be rude not to buy it. Well impressed by quality of playback pictures after recording off telly, whatever everyone else says. Very easy to setup too.

Also astounded to find that it displays the ID3 tags (artist/track/album descriptions) when playing MP3 CDs. Never seen this before in other MP3 players...

Wish I'd known R311i model was available before buying it as I've got a DigiCam with iLink :-(
Of course, I may just be talking b****cks!

I bought one these the other day

when I set it all up and started to record on it, the t.v locked to the channel it was recording and I couldn't switch over to watch something else....Is this right? also when I turn the t.v off if recording from external link the machine turns off too

Can somebody tell me if this is correct or have I done something wrong ???

Can't fault the quality of it though, just seems a bit pointless that you can only record what you are watching

    Cheers

  • u must have done something wrong.

..i usually record from sky as im watching terrestrial channels with no probs at all...tried it the other way round too, again no probs.

unless u have wired it up incorrectly i would take it back for a replacement.
    :) "if its out there...i'll take it !!!" :)

I set it up as the instructions said

I have it set up with the scart leads

I've tried it on two t.vs now, both do the same thing it just locks onto the station. I'm usually quite good at this setting up malarky ;)

I will give it a another try, if not back to sainsburys!!

    Thank you  ::)

  • Being the divvy that i am could i ask a question.

Can the dvd recorder record other dvd's?? soleley for back up purposes. Also what is the difference between dvd+r and dvd-r? i have a dvd rewriter on my laptop and have no idea how to use it so thought this might be an option. thanks ;D
