Easyjet charging £7.50 for using a VISA debit card

I recently booked flights to Prague and upon paying I selected card type VISA and then pay by debit card (£2.50 charge I believe) when the flight processed it actually charged me £7.50 which is the charge for a VISA CREDIT card. Upopn querying this mistake and providing an actual picture of the debit card they have stated that they will not refund the £5 difference as it was my mistake and there was an option for a VISA debit card in the drop down menu which I should have selected (although coincidentally there is only the option for a VISA card not a VISA credit card which I bet most people will automatically select).
How many people do you reckon this has happened to and how many £5s do you reckon easy jet collect every single flight? I am trying to continue fighting for the refund on principal but I dont hold much hope.
So if anyone books flights with Easy Jet beware when paying with a VISA debit card!

The drop down menu gives both the card and the fee quite clearly although I agree the words credit card are mssing. The options visa debit (fee £1.95) and visa electron (free) are clearly there for you to read. Unfortunately you've voluntarily agreed to pay more than you had to, but have not really been deliberately duped.0

Visa debit cards can be processed as both debit cards and credit cards. Usually this works in your favour as it means they're still valid if the retailer accepts only credit cards (which is fairly common, especially overseas), but it does mean you have to be especially careful at UK outlets where there are different fees for the different options. Unless you can prove that you definitely clicked on the 'debit' option, you have little or no chance of getting the money back.0
