Wedding Gift List at Trailfinders

We have about £700 collected for our Wedding Gift List at Trailfinders and we've been told it's valid indefinately.
Only trouble is, we were looking to save up enough money for a trip to New Zealand and I don't think we'll manage to get enough together for at least another year or so.
It got me wondering what would happen in the event Trailfinders went bust though? I think being ABTA and ATOL protected would mean we'd only be protected if we'd actually booked a holiday with the gift voucher wouldn't it?
Thanks for any advice

I don't think that ATOL or ABTA would assist here. As you correctly say, it is not a holiday you have booked but effectively deposited cash.
I would be tempted to obtain confirmation that the money is held in a separate account until such time as the vouchers are redeemed.0
